Manages engineering for one or more projects. Coordinates and guides project technical needs with the project management, engineering disciplines, client, and key suppliers. Manages engineering budget of the assigned projects.
Ensure engineering deliverables of the assigned projects are on schedule and meet contractual requirement.
Provides overall technical responsibility and supervision to assure timely and economical execution of projects or bidding to meet company standards and client specifications;
Review, approve and release engineering documentation, drawings and material requisitions of all disciplines, ensuring conformance to contractual specifications and budget;
Approves Purchase Order Recommendation (POR);
Approves engineering Variance Request (VR);
Provides leadership and supervision to engineering teams comprised of multiple disciplines throughout the life of the assigned project;
Develops and manages engineering plans, quality, and resources as per project requirement. Identifies the deviation early with mitigation plan developed;
Manages engineering budget and schedule of the assigned projects;
Provides guidance to engineering team regarding priorities and interfaces;
Provides recommendations, jointly with the discipline leaders, concerning the choice of technical solutions;
Lead technical negotiations with customers, partners and contractors. Manages client approval of engineering deliverables as required;
Makes sure that standard solutions and previous experiences are considered in the assigned projects if applicable;
Conducts engineering gate reviews, technical status reviews, as well as other design reviews. Provide to the management a complete and detailed project technical status report on a regular basis;
Controls the correct circulation of the engineering documentation among the project engineering team during the project execution or tendering;
Supports the project manager and/or the contract manager on technical issues of claims to/from the client/partners/subcontractors;
Be responsible for the maintenance of the engineering Master Document List (MDL) and Bill of Quantity (BOQ);
Follows up the site team on engineering issues. Coordinates training manuals as well as O&M manuals of the assigned projects;

University degree in Engineering or Science (MSc, BSc or equivalent)
Degree in power/chemical engineering is a plus
Experience in air pollution control technology is a plus
Certified engineer or registered engineer is preferred
Minimum ten (12) years’ industrial experience after BS, or 10 years after MS
Experience in an engineering or construction coordination position of heavy industrial equipment, preferably in power generation industry
Experience in leading discipline engineering team in projects
Experience in managing people and/or projects to successful completion
Multi-disciplinary technical knowledge

Handles multiple tasks
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentially and be discrete
Ability to prioritize workload and use good judgment
Understand the commercial implications of project events
